Software Engineering Industrial Training

Software Engineering Industrial Training is Balanita Academy's full-time, 6-month programme for undergraduates completing the industrial training their degree requires, and for internship seekers and graduates who need industry experience. Choose the Software Developer, QA Engineer or Business Analyst pathway.

Run by Balanita Private Limited, building software for local and international clients since 2012.

January 2027 intake: registrations of interest are now open.

Not a typical internship

Most internships leave students waiting for work and learning by chance. Balanita Academy is built differently.

  • A structured curriculum

Every month has clear goals, lessons, and assessments.

  • Senior supervision

Our experienced team teaches, reviews your work, and gives regular feedback.

  • A path to paid roles

Top performers are considered for paid internships and jobs at Balanita.

Choose your pathway

Real software teams have developers, QA engineers, and business analysts working together. So does our programme. You share foundations and project work with the whole cohort, and specialise in your own role.

Trainees never access live customer data or production systems.

How selection works

When applications open, we select applicants who are ready to commit, in three short steps.

  1. Apply online

Share your details, your pathway, your CV, and why you want to join.

  2. Practical task

A short task, about 45 minutes, based on your pathway.

  3. Interview

A 15-minute conversation about your goals and commitment.

Fees and payment

Indicative fee: LKRĀ 90,000, the same for all pathways.

After the interview, we email payment details to the candidates we select. Pay the full fee on or before the date in that email. Places go to selected candidates in the order they pay.

Refund policy

Full refund within the first 2 weeks. 50% refund of the fee until the end of month 1. No refund after month 1.
